Hi, my name is Joshua Bedford, and I am the founder of 1LightforGod. I am here to tell you about this ministry. I started 1LightforGod in the later days of the summer of 2011, and was once asked when the moment struck when I knew to start this. Well, there never was a single moment when everything hit. Building this ministry was a gradual process, so I wrote this for you. This how it began:
In the summer of 2011, I decided to learn web design. The problem was I had nothing to put on a website, and a website with no content is a waste of time. I thought about it for a day or two, then I had the thought of writing devotions. That way I would be able to share the story of Christ, and aid other Christians, while still learning to make websites. So, as I learned to build websites, I started writing devotions. The website started as God’s Property, which I changed to 1LightforGod not too long after that. You can actually find my first attempt at writing code for a website at gods-property.webs.com. It is pitiful, but that is what it was. After writing somewhere around twenty devotions, I kept hearing about becoming a light for God. I heard this from my pastor, my youth pastor, a youth pastor at a church my grandfather pastors in Alabama, and online. God was really speaking to me about shining bright for Him. He spoke to me about all of the people who claim to be a Christian, but live a life as if they were unsaved.
This is why I started this ministry, and why this ministry continues to exist. 1LightforGod exists to aid others in becoming that shining light for God. We have Devotions, Reading Plans, Music, Comedy Videos, and more being added weekly to aid you in your walk with Jesus Christ.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
